Over the past weeks, the Manta Network community has been buzzing with activities and challenges, all leading to this momentous announcement. These engaging activities not only strengthened community bonds but also provided members with an early chance to claim their unique .manta domain names.
MANTA ID, the driving force behind the creation of .manta domains, leverages the robust SPACE ID 3.0 infrastructure. This decentralized naming system is positioned to become integral to the Manta Pacific ecosystem. It allows seamless integration across wallets, websites, and decentralized applications (dApps).
Owning a .manta domain presents several advantages, including crafting a unique Web3 identity, simplifying addresses with memorable domain names, and facilitating Crypto and NFT transfers using .manta domains.
Walkthrough of Pre-registration, Auctions, and Exclusive Offers
The eligibility for pre-registration is focused on the Manta community, with active participants in past quests and campaigns securing a coveted spot on the pre-registration whitelist. Each Manta Domain Allowlist Ticket NFT contributes to the ability to claim up to seven .manta domains during this exclusive phase.
The pre-registration unfolds in two steps: an auction phase from Dec 22nd, 2023, to Dec 26th, 2023, followed by a first-come-first-serve (FCFS) registration phase from Dec 27th, 2023, to Jan 1st, 2024.
The auction phase, exclusive to whitelisted members, spans five days and involves bidding on new and existing domain names. Minimum bids are set at 105% above the previous bid, with options for continuing bids or instant refunds if outbid. Winning bids lead to rights for domain registration.
Following the auction, the FCFS phase allows winners to secure their domains, and others can claim the remaining domains based on their quota. Quotas not utilized during the auctions phase will be available for use in the first-come-first-served phase. However, certain .manta domains are reserved for ecosystem partners and projects, playing a crucial role in the ecosystem and not open for public registration.
Following pre-registration, .manta domain trading will be available on Manta Network’s NFT marketplaces. The .manta domain service is set to redefine decentralized identities within the Manta Network ecosystem and its expansive range of dApps.
