Canon USA, the US division of the global camera and imaging giant, has announced the launch of an NFT marketplace called Cadabra on the Ethereum blockchain dedicated to photography. The first version of the marketplace will be presented this week during the NFT conference in New York. The official launch of Cadabra is scheduled for the second half of 2023.
According to a press release, the marketplace will feature photographs in a variety of categories, including wildlife, sports, lifestyle, and landscapes. Canon has yet to reveal which photographers will be participating in the platform, but Cadabra will feature both initial releases of photo collections and a secondary market for NFT resale.
In addition to digital images, Cadabra will also allow participating artists to submit physical prints of images that Canon will print. Initially, Cadabra will only launch in the US and will support both credit/debit card and cryptocurrency payments.
