Mojo Melee, an NFT game built on Ethereum scaling network Polygon, has partnered with retail giant Amazon to give away NFTs for Amazon Prime subscribers.
The first offering, available now via the Amazon Prime Gaming portal, is a free package that includes an NFT and in-game currency to Prime subscribers who create a new player account for Mojo Melee. The pack includes one NFT for champion character Gwyn Rockhopper as well as 885 Oreāa non-crypto, in-game currency.
According to Mojo Melee developer Mystic Moose, the character is offered as an NFT right out of the gate, whereas Mojo Meleeās in-game progression system typically requires players to hit a certain character level before they can mint champions as NFTs. Itās a āspecial offerā as part of the Amazon partnership, a representative told Decrypt.

The Amazon deal is set to last six months and includes additional monthly drops of free in-game NFTs and other content, providing ongoing opportunities for Prime subscribers to check out the game and have a potential advantage over non-subscribers.
Mojo Melee, which is playable via web browsers as well as an Android app, puts a casual spin on the āauto battlerā genre that combines elements of chess and real-time strategy gamesāas popularized by major non-blockchain games like Auto Chess and Teamfight Tactics.

GG went hands-on with Mojo Meleeās open beta version in May and came away largely impressed by a āa streamlined and simplified introduction to the genreāāa welcome surprise given how complex such auto battler games can be. The game has since officially launched with its āSeason Oneā content package.
This isnāt the first time that Amazon Prime Gaming has partnered with a game to offer free NFTs for its subscribers. Mythical Games has offered NFT promotions for its play-and-create PC and Mac game Blankos Block Party via Prime Gaming, including offers for a free avatar and accessory that are still available now.
Amazon is also reportedly looking into launching its own broader NFT marketplace, as reported by various publications earlier this year, but those plans have yet to materialize as of this writing.
