NFT cards of legendary anime Pokemon designed by Courtyard have been released on the Polygon network. The two-stage sale of Pokemon cards on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain ended successfully, with NFT enthusiasts buying 175 cards in a couple of seconds. In addition to the stablecoin USD Coin (USDC), the organizers accepted fiat money from credit cards.
According to analyst S4mmy.eth, those who participated in the token sale purchased so-called “Mystery Boxes,” each of which contained a unique physical Pokemon card. The analyst emphasized the similarity of this project to a lottery, but with a special audience of RWA collectors. This launch opens up new prospects for trading both physical and digital collectibles. Since the start of sales, the minimum price has increased immediately from $5 to $50, S4mmy.eth emphasized.
Recent weeks have been particularly productive for Polygon (MATIC). In August, it managed to surpass Solana (SOL) to become the second most active blockchain for NFT trading.
